View of Knockwood – The Golden Age Hotel is in the distance. The Allens bought the hotel in 1867. The last licensee was Frank Higgins until it closed in 1923. Rod Quin had the place from early 1930s until 1947. The building was demolished in 1964 when the road was realigned.
