The old Wappan sundial. Monday 24 August 1936. On reverse of postcard: “The Old Wappan sundail at Mansfield, Victoria counted the fleeting hours there till years turned into generations. It now counts the hours for you. Watson and Hunter first to enter this district 1839. They occupied practically all of it. 1840 Millstones imported by them. Wappan Station – portion of this occupation purchased 1845 by John Bon. Resumed by State Rivers 1928. Presented by W. A. Bom. Kelly Gang Memorial at background. Exact wording on the bronze plate “as above”.”
