Dick Forrest and Peter Purcell, in partnership, taking cattle into Mitchells Creek for summer grazing (On the narrow Bridle Track) up the Jamieson River 1978-1980. Commentary by Dick Forrest: Large tree fallen over Bridle Track this steered the cattle down a steep bank we had to get off the horses and rundown on foot as it was too rough and steep for horses and force the cattle back up onto the Bridle Track. We used to go in 2 weeks before we took the cattle up and keep the bridle track open but sometimes trees like this come down or bushwalkers up ahead could frighten the cattle off the track. The cattle were always very settled and tried to do the right thing for us once we had a few kms behind us.
