Ballasting Bonnie Doon Railway Bridge. The enlargement of Lake Eildon was originally created for irrigation downstream, although water sport recreation and other pursuits have been enjoyed. The original township of Bonnie Doon was relocated and the old site flooded in 1955. Heavy rains filled Lake Eildon in 1956.
